1/29 - Ostrich wishes David a happy birthday

Mmmmm!  Delicious overpriced fruit from the cafeteria!

Happy birthday, David!!

1/28 - Blue skies for Elephant

Elephant and I were pleasantly surprised by blue skies and a bright yellow thing in the sky today.  Look!

You wouldn't believe the call I got from coworker Ann.  She asked if I had an iPatch.  No -- that was what I heard after all those headlines yesterday.  She wanted an EYE PATCH, like the pirates wear.  As it happened, I had a Deluxe Eye Patch that I was happy to lend to her poor injured AYE!  Er, eye.

We met up with Suzanne for lunch.  Happy belated birthday, my friend!

1/27 - Tiny Gorilla wants to visit the zoo

There's a new baby gorilla at the zoo, and Tiny Gorilla wants to see him.

At lunch, Rosemary (not pictured) and I had salads that were a million times bigger than Tiny Gorilla.

1/26 - Baby Giraffe speaks up

Baby Giraffe and I saw a very big puddle on the way to work.

Then, he posed with my drying umbrella.

We had a lot of meetings today.  Baby Giraffe stayed close to my headset so he could hear and chime in with his valuable opinions. (Although people were confused by his request for more baobab leaves.)

1/25 - Chickie and his peeps

Today, Lil' Gal volunteered a toy!  (Usually, Lil' Guy tries to send one of her toys to work and she vetoes.)  Chickie and I drove in.

Later, we did an art project involving a yellow circle.  I call it "Ring Around the Chickie."

Adelina had some chicks hanging around her cube, so we made friends with them.

1/22 - Buster

Buster and I met Alan for lunch.  He wore a hat in the rain (Alan, not Buster).

Buster sat on a parking meter.  He got his feet wet, but I wiped them off.  It was my idea to sit him there, after all.

1/21 - Tiny Bubbles

We had another work from home day, after an exciting night of inhaler heroics with Lil' Gal required a doctor's appointment today.

Lil' Guy and I had a pink tea party with all the Bubbles family (Bubbles, Baby Blue Bubbles, Baby Pink Bubbles, and a lot of puffy baby bubbles stickers from That Silly Doug.  And Piglet, who was allowed to attend because he is small and pink and very tidy.

1/20 - Parrot, pirates and palms (and stinky feet)

It was very rainy today, and by the time I got to work, my socks were wet.  I'd meant to pack a spare pair, but sometimes Mommy forgets things.  So I walked around in my stocking feet for a while at work.  Parrot thought this was very silly.

Later, Linda and Parrot pretended they were on a pirate ship.  ARRRRRR!

We ended the day dreaming of palm trees and warm beaches.  Ahhhh.

1/19 - Conference call from home on The Very Blustery Day

I figured out how to get brand-new birthday toys from Grandmother to be my work helpers!  Work from home while the kids are at pre-school!  These were even sanctioned helpers, as I promised to take good care of them.

Piglet and Tigger were selected as "car friends" for the ride to school, so Pooh and Roo stayed with me.  Here they are, perky as ever, even during a teleconference.

Pooh and Roo were quite pleased.  It was a Very Good Meeting, indeed.

And a Very Happy Birthday to my wonderful 4-year old twins!

1/15 - Bubbles and double bronchitis

Today was another Bubbles day.  She got to meet Michael, who was looking especially dapper.

Later, Ashley let Bubbles wear a lovely necklace, as they enjoyed some girl time.  (Poor Ashley and Mommy both have bronchitis!)

At the end of the day, Bubbles was very excited to find puffy stickers of her "baby bubbles" friends, and brought them home for the twins.  (Thanks, Silly Doug and Sick Ashley!)

1/14 - Moosie on the loose

Moosie and I went to the doctor today.  I have bronchitis; he's fine.

We ended up working from home today, but here he is keeping me company in the examination room.

1/13 - Go, Diego. Go!

I got to bring Diego in today with the condition that That Silly Doug not put him on the blue exercise ball.  So we didn't.  (Only cuz we ran out of time with all those meetings!)  Here, we check The Map.

We grabbed lunch with the Ashleys and  That Silly Doug.

1/12 - Lucy and the Very Big Coffee

Lotsa meetings today, so poor Lucy didn't get to do much.  I was still drinking that morning's (cold) Very Big Coffee at lunchtime.

We took a break in the afternoon and looked for other Little People on the computer.  (No, the Fisher Price ones, silly!)

This week, Ashley helped me realize that most of my work projects correspond to one or more childhood games.  My current project is "Red Light, Green Light."  The big project on my last team was most definitely "Whack-a-Mole."  We've all had the "Hot Potato" project, have we not?  And who hasn't played "Hide and Seek" trying to avoid a coworker or task?  Woe to the worker bee on the "Dodgeball" project!

I could go on and on, but that would be too depressing.  Don't let that stop you from commenting, though...  Which projects would you rather take to the playground?

1/11 - Surfin' Sally and the silly salads

Sally came to work with me today.  We found a nice blue fire hydrant on the way in.

Later, she was very helpful as I wrestled with Visio.  (Visio won.)

We had my favorite 3-salad combo from the Mediterranean place for lunch.

Then, Sally went surfing with Anne Bonnie on That Silly Doug's toy surfboard.  Whee!!

1/10 - Fruit Bat at the tea party

OK, it's not a work day, but I was off Thursday/Friday and the toys at home were being cute today.  First, the twins and I were fruit bats at a tea party.  Happily, we got to eat cakes.  Then, the Backyardigans showed up in festive hats.

Then, tragedy struck.  Lil' Guy decided to cook and eat them for lunch.  :(

Tomorrow, I'm back to work.  Who will save the Backyardigans then?

1/06 - Blue Baby Bubbles and the big blue ball

Sent: Wed, January 6, 2010

Hi guys!

That Silly Doug did put Blue Baby Bubbles on the ball!  She thought it was fun!  Are you having fun with Grandma and Grandpa?  Tell them I say hi!

(Lil' Gal was reluctant to send BBB because she might run into "that silly Doug."  The twins told BBB that if she saw the big blue ball, she should yell out "Stop!" in Spanish.  Too much Dora the Explorer?)

BBB and I saw another round thing at lunch -- a statue shaped like a circle! Or the letter O.

Later, BBB went all rock star on me, trying on my sunglasses.

1/05 - What did Susan see?

Susan saw lots of interesting things on the way to work this morning...
Window cleaners!  Just like in Curious George!

And a man fixing a traffic light.

Susan was very interested in the hot sauce and other condiments at lunchtime.  (Mommy only put ketchup on her veggie burger, though.)

1/04 - Bubbles is back!

It may have been a weird twin thing.  This morning, I asked who my "helper" would be, and both twins yelled out in unison, "Bubbles!"  Yes, Bubbles, who has been at the bottom of the toy bin since we got all those new Xmas toys.

It was a foggy morning, as we waited for the train.

At lunch, we enjoyed a salad.

We finally had a moment to catch up with Dana in the afternoon.  I've known her for eons, but she just joined our work team (again).  Welcome, Dana!

12/31 - Turkey rings in the new year

Happy New Year, everyone!  2009 was quite the ride, but it definitely sucked less than 2008.  'Nuf said.

Today, Turkey came back to work with me, and tried to make friends with some pigeons.

At lunch, Turkey enjoyed the bread sticks.

And then, we rang in the new year with Trader Joe's appetizers (rounded up 5 minutes before closing!) and a decrepit Dick Clark.
